Pacific MO Roofing Contractor, at a glance
Pacific sits at the west end of our I-44 corridor where old river town housing and newer subdivisions share the same weather, and the wind exposure out here is the reason most of our calls start with a missing shingle rather than a slow leak. Someone answers the phone at any hour. Call (314) 429-6000.
Wind, ridgelines and older framing
Open ground west of the county line changes what a storm does to a roof.
Houses around Pacific often sit on open ground with far less tree break than a county subdivision gets. Wind arrives with more of its energy intact and works the same places every time: the rake edge, the first courses above the eave, and the ridge cap.
The older housing near the original town center brings a second issue. Plank decking instead of plywood is common, and plank boards shrink apart over decades until nail holding is unreliable. Gaps beyond a certain width need sheathing over the planks once the old roof is off, and we quote that possibility before we start.
Newer subdivision homes on the edges of town have their own pattern: builder grade three tab shingle at the end of its service life all at once, across a whole street, usually around the twenty year mark. If your neighbors are all reroofing, that is not a coincidence and it is worth getting yours looked at.

How we handle a Pacific job
The call
Answered by a person at any hour. If a storm just came through, say so, because active leaks move to the front of the list.
The inspection
Free, on the roof, photographed. On older homes we check decking condition and nail holding, not just the shingle surface.
The number
Written, itemized, including the per sheet price if decking needs replacing. We do not quote roofs from the driveway.
The install
Material staged, crew on site, cleanup with a magnet sweep and a walk of the finished roof with the foreman.

Do we really come out that far?
Yes. Pacific is inside our normal service area and has been for years. Our crews run the I-44 corridor through Valley Park and Eureka continuously, and there is no trip charge for an inspection out here.
What we will not do is promise a same hour arrival from Maryland Heights in the middle of a metro wide storm event. When a hail line hits the whole region we triage by water coming in, so say so on the phone if that is you. For everything else we schedule like anyone else and show up in the window we gave you. The crews doing your roof in Pacific are the same crews doing roofs in Kirkwood that week.
Pacific roofing questions
Do you charge extra to come out to Pacific?
No trip charge and no inspection fee. Pacific is part of our regular service area and the estimate is free the same as it is in the county.
Half my ridge cap blew off. Is that a repair or a claim?
Often a claim, and we will tell you which at the inspection. Wind damage to ridge cap frequently comes with creasing further down the slope that only shows on close inspection. We document all of it with dates so you can make that decision with the facts in hand.
What happens if you find bad decking under my old roof?
You see the per sheet price in the estimate before the job starts, and we photograph every sheet we replace. Plank decked homes in older Pacific sometimes need sheathing over the planks, which we flag as a possibility up front rather than as a surprise.
Can you roof a detached garage or outbuilding too?
Yes, and it is cheaper done at the same time as the house because the crew and the dumpster are already there. Metal is often the better answer on an outbuilding and we will quote both.
Who answers if I call at two in the morning?
A person at John Beal Roofing, not a call center reading from a script. That has been the standing rule here since 1947 and it is the main reason people call us during storms.
