About John Beal Roofing, at a glance
We're an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, BBB A+ rated, and named to Roofing Contractor Magazine's Top 100.

Why a family company matters here
The other thing about staying in one market for three generations: we know the housing. Brick two-flats in the city, post-war ranches in north county, 1990s subdivisions in St. Charles County. Different roofs, different failures, and we've opened up thousands of each.
What we hold ourselves to
Honest guidance, skilled craftsmanship, and a commitment to protecting what's under the roof. If your roof has eight years left, we'll tell you that instead of selling you one now.
Our crews are employees. The person on your roof works for us, carries our insurance, and answers to our foreman. That's not the industry norm anymore and it's the main reason we can warranty the work for life.
Credentials, plainly
Family owned since 1947. Third-generation ownership. Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, which is a designation the manufacturer limits and audits. BBB A+ rated. Roofing Contractor Magazine Top 100. Licensed, insured and bonded, with certificates available before a crew arrives.
Lifetime workmanship warranty on our labor, plus the manufacturer's material warranty. Two separate things, and we explain which covers what before you sign.
Three generations, one market
The company passed from founder to son to grandson, and the address hasn't moved out of the St. Louis area since 1947. Eight decades of roofs on the same housing stock is a specific kind of knowledge.
It also means our name is on jobs from the 1960s that are still standing. That's uncomfortable in a good way - it keeps standards from slipping.
How we're set up
Headquarters and shop in Maryland Heights, with offices in Chesterfield, Festus and Edwardsville, Illinois. Our own crews, our own trucks, our own materials handling.
That structure exists so a call at 2 a.m. in Festus doesn't wait on a crew coming from the other side of the metro.
What we won't do
We don't knock doors after a hail storm telling people their roof is destroyed. We don't ask for a signature before the damage is documented. We don't subcontract the work to a crew we've never met.
The industry's reputation problem comes from those three things.
